Herefordshire and Worcestershire members are invited to attend a pre-harvest health and safety event on 5 June, starting with registration at 8.30am.

Here's what is happening on the day:

  • 8.30am | Delegates arrive. Breakfast rolls and refreshments available.

  • 8.50am | Welcome introduction by Sarah Stephens, NFU Farm Safety and Transport Advisor

  • 9am | Phil Smith, IOSH Professional specialising in Risk Management

  • 9.35am | Rural Crime Discussion Panel and Q&A with NFU Rural Crime Lead Sam Durham, West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion, Rural SafeGuard's Frank Cannon and West Mercia RABO John Meek.

  • 10.15am | Engaging with Herefordshire Fire Service with Group Commander Dave Swallow and a representative from the GoodSAM App.

  • 11am | Breakout to practical sessions including pesticide safety, chainsaw safety, workshop best practice, trailer safety and trauma first aid.

  • 12pm | Exhibitor networking.

  • 1pm | Event concludes.

Exhibitors including AHDB, Tallis Amos, Catchment Sensitive Farming, Rural Safe Guard, IOSH, Vulcan Inspection Services, Lanyon Bowdler and Wisdom Systems.

We will also hear from the founder of Prometheus Medical who flies for Midlands Air Ambulance and Kent/Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance where he has been medical director for both. As well as those position he also does volunteering responding with Mercia Accident Rescue Service.

A certificate of attendance and NRoSO or BASIS points are available.
