NFU Saffron Walden Group Secretary Roger Willmott clinched the award for the highest achieving office of the year in the NFU East region.
And NFU Dorking and Surrey West Group Secretary Anthony Posnett received the Director of Regions Award for his achievements at the branch.
The annual awards are given by the NFU in recognition of outstanding achievement and excellence in membership retention and recruitment. This year’s prestigious event was held at the Churchill War Rooms in London.

Acting Director of Regions David Hall said that Roger prided himself on excellent and prompt service to members, which was rewarded by a loyal membership and excellent retention.
“With Kemi Badenoch as his local MP, Roger has played a key role in collating members’ views and arranging and encouraging their attendance at constituency meetings,” he said.
“Roger has adapted the branch engagement programme to reflect members’ wishes. While activity centres around social and sporting activities, the work of the NFU work is always woven into the conversation.”
Anthony Posnett, who was unable to attend the awards night, has been a group secretary for 18 years. He was praised for running vibrant branch meetings and an impressive programme of events that generated fantastic attendance.
David Hall said: “He is the epitome of what an NFU group secretary should be, always available, attending all NFU meetings, supportive to members and staff, knowledgeable and kind.
“He is well respected by his colleagues and by members, who regularly praise his support.”
NFU Regional Director Zoe Leach said the awards highlighted the value of the group secretary network.
“I’d like to congratulate Roger and Anthony on their well-deserved awards and thank all our group secretaries for the vital role they play supporting NFU members and their families,” she said.
“They are true pillars of the rural community, championing farmers’ interests and providing invaluable help, guidance and support.”
