Tom Bradshaw has been re-elected NFU President. Tom, an arable farmer from Essex, has been part of the NFU officeholder team for six years, having served as President for the past two years and holding both the Vice-president and Deputy President positions before that.

He will be joined by Paul Tompkins as Deputy President and Robyn Munt as Vice-president.

President

NFU President Tom Bradshaw said: “I am deeply honoured and extremely proud to have been re-elected President of this superb organisation. I would like to thank both David and Rachel for their commitment and service to the NFU and its members.

“The past 18 months have been among the most challenging in recent memory for British farming. Throughout this time, the NFU has been at the forefront of fighting for our industry and none of it would have been possible without our members. The success we have achieved has been down to working collaboratively and showing a united front. Together we have been stronger.

“With the support of the public, we will continue to campaign hard on our members’ behalf to ensure the right policies are in place in order to create an environment for a more resilient, thriving and profitable British farming industry, and secure long-term food security for the UK.”

Tom farms in partnership with his wife, Emily, and his parents in North Essex. Alongside a small owned farm they run a larger contract farming business growing a range of combinable crops across 950 hectares in North East Essex.

The home farm is based around arable production but has also diversified into equestrian and renewables.

Tom has represented the NFU from Local Branch Chairman through to Chair of the National Combinable Crops Board.

Tom was elected to the position of NFU President in February 2024 and re-elected in February 2026.

“Every farmer and grower, whatever their sector, scale or system, wants the same essentials; fairness, stability and the chance to build a future. Our union is at its best when it operates as a team, our members, officeholders and staff all pulling in the same direction, working with those that share our values.

“My focus is now clear – deliver practical results for farmers, work collaboratively, keep a sharp commercial outlook and build confidence across the farming community.”

Paul Tompkins

NFU Deputy President

A Yorkshire dairy farmer, Paul Tompkins has built a reputation as a practical, forward‑looking voice for British agriculture.

Not from a farming background, Paul worked in the financial sector before meeting his wife and joining the family dairy business.

Farming as part of a family partnership in the Vale of York, he combines hands‑on experience running a large, modern dairy business with more than a decade representing producers at national level.

His work has focused on championing a confident and sustainable future for UK farming, shaped by those who understand its realities on the ground.

As a long‑serving member of the NFU Dairy Board, Paul helped navigate volatility in milk markets, environmental regulation and changing trade conditions, always arguing for policies that reward productive, resilient farm businesses.

Alongside his policy work, he is an active communicator, using media, events and on‑farm engagement to bridge the gap between farmers, industry and policymakers.

With two teenage children and as a keen runner, Paul is rooted in family, community and the countryside, bringing energy, clarity and determination to every role he undertakes.

Paul was elected to the position of NFU Deputy President in February 2026.
