From our NFU Professional September edition
What this summer’s drought means for the farming industry and what the NFU is doing about it.
In this month’s new video, NFU National Water Resources Specialist Dr Mark Betson talks us through the government’s drought support package for agriculture, put together in response to the extreme conditions farmers have been contending with over the summer.
Following the driest July since records began in 1836, 71% of England is now classified as being in drought. Eleven areas have had drought status formally declared, and no part of the country is currently deemed to be in normal conditions.
The government’s package reflects many of the NFU’s key asks and now we need to make sure that farmers are aware of the help available so they can take advantage of it.
As a trusted voice on farm, we want to make sure you know what has been secured, so you can make sure the clients and customers you work with are aware.
Watch the video, share it, and help us spread the word.
