  • 7 September 2026: NFU launches the uplands survey

Upland farmers are vital to the management of some of England’s most valued landscapes and provide benefits far beyond food production.

The NFU uplands survey will help gather the evidence needed to improve support for the sector and ensure farmers’ voices are heard in future policy decisions.

NFU launches uplands survey

The NFU wants to hear from upland farmers about the challenges and opportunities facing the sector to help shape future policy and priorities.

If your farm business operates in an upland area, your views are vital. The survey is open to all upland farmers, not just NFU members.

NFU Uplands Group chairs Mat Cole and Dave Stanners are encouraging farmers to take part.

Deadline for the survey is 26 October
