Continually investing in both processing technology and people ensures ABP remain at the forefront of our industry, with award-winning programmes in place to develop future talent including early career pathways with graduates and apprentices, alongside bespoke training and development programmes for butchery colleagues that can take them from entry level to Master Butcher standard. This ensures ABP and the wider industry has a sustainable future.
Sustainability is another area of significant focus for ABP. From packaging improvements which have removed more than 3,000 tonnes of plastic from its supply chain, through their works with farmers, dedicated demonstration farm and PRISM2030 (Programme for Improving the Sustainability of Red Meat).
ABP has already proven demonstrable improvement in on-farm carbon emissions through genetics, feed and other business practices. Working with governmental bodies, industry groups and academia, ABP are demonstrating the value UK agriculture can deliver across carbon emissions, biodiversity, water quality, soil health and more.

The charity supports farming people in three unique ways:
- Housing: Farmers and farm workers often face an uncertain future when they are forced to leave their homes due to ill health, retirement, or the non-viability of their farms, especially when farming is all they have ever known. Addington supports them by finding safe, suitable homes that allow them to remain within their local communities, close to family and friends. The charity currently has 63 properties, including some shared ownership homes, all rented at affordable rates.
- Emergency Relief: They give support during times of crisis, through Forage Aid. Whether dealing with the impacts of extreme weather, animal disease or unexpected farm emergencies, Addington offers timely grants and practical assistance to help safeguard livestock, maintain business continuity and support farmer wellbeing. Over the last 25 years, they have supported over 25,000 beneficiaries with grants totalling £12m.
- New Entrant Scheme: Launched in 2025, the New Entrant Scheme encourages and enables the next generation. The Scheme offers small grants of up to £3000 to new entrants at the beginning of their farming careers, focussing on healthy farms, healthy livestock and healthy farmers. Alongside this, the charity is establishing a network of starter farms, giving a first step onto the farming ladder.
Addington Fund plays a vital role in strengthening resilience, stability and opportunity within rural communities and 2026 marks the charity’s 25th anniversary.
It remains firmly committed to supporting farming families and sustaining the rural communities at the heart of the countryside.

We are famous for our Norfolk Black Chicken which is widely recognized as the very finest chicken available due to its unique heritage and superior eating qualities.
It was developed to be different from anything else available and its beautiful black plumage sets it apart from everything else.
The Norfolk Black Chicken was developed and bred by TNP and is exclusive to us. The birds are grown on a rich corn-fed diet and freely roam among the forests and woods within the Breckland region of Norfolk.
To maximize the eating quality and flavour from its meat, the bird is very slowly grown and is up to 3 times the age of conventional chickens when it matures.
The Norfolk Black Chicken has won many accolades and was served to the King and US President at the recent State Banquet at Windsor Castle.

Founded to give farmers clearer insight into their costs, performance, and profitability, YAGRO works with farmers to turn complex farm data into practical, actionable intelligence. By securely collecting and standardising data from farm management systems and other data sources, YAGRO provides an accurate picture of how farming businesses are really performing ,at crop, field, and farm level.
For farmers, YAGRO delivers powerful tools that help them understand margins, benchmark performance, and plan with confidence in an increasingly volatile environment.
