GB dairy and livestock producers will be impacted by plans to align with the EU’s animal health framework. This will require regular animal health visits by a vet for all animal keepers as well as changes to the way that exotic diseases are managed. There will also be changes to how veterinary medicine Maximum Residue Limits are set.
Organic producers will also need to align with the EU’s organic regulatory framework, which has changed since Brexit.
For all sectors other than poultry, the overall impact on day-to-day production for organic producers is expected to be limited. However, the new regulation introduces clearer definitions, new thresholds, and more precise wording that producers should be aware of.
