Direct Debit switch incentive terms and conditions

This page details the terms and conditions of the NFU gift card promotion.

The National Farmers’ Union (“NFU”) is an employer’s association with registration number 245E with its office at Agriculture House, Stoneleigh Park, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, CV8 2TZ. These terms and conditions are binding on all applicants to the NFU direct debit switch incentive (“promotion”).

1. Introduction

These terms and conditions (“promotion terms”) apply to the NFU Direct Debit switch incentive promotion (the “promotion”) operated by National Farmers’ Union (“NFU”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By participating in the promotion, you agree to be bound by these promotion terms.

2. Promotion period

The promotion begins on 16 September 2025 and ends on 15 December 2025 at 23:59 GMT (the “promotion period”). We reserve the right to amend the promotion period at our sole discretion.

3. Eligibility criteria

3.1 The promotion is open to existing NFU Farmer & Grower members provided:  
a) You are a current NFU member who has received a renewal pack;
b) You are aged 18+ and your NFU membership business is registered in the UK (even if you reside outside the UK);
c) You currently pay your membership fee by cash/cheque/bank transfer (not Direct Debit) during the promotion period;
d) You switch to Direct Debit by calling NFU CallFirst 0370 845 8458 during the promotion period and the switch is successfully set up; and
e) Your Direct Debit remains active until your first payment has been successfully collected.

3.2 Excluded from participation are:
a) employees of Ridgeline or any other third party directly involved in the promotion; and
b) existing members already paying by Direct Debit.

4. The offer

4.1 Eligible members who switch to Direct Debit during the promotion period will receive one (1) digital Ridgeline gift card (delivered by email) to the value of 10 GBP.

4.2 The gift card is subject to Ridgeline’s own terms and conditions (available at ridgelineclothing.co.uk), including any expiry date and usage restrictions.

5. How to claim the offer

5.1 To participate and receive the gift card, eligible members must call NFU CallFirst on 0370 845 8458 during the promotion period and request to switch their membership payments to Direct Debit.
5.2 CallFirst advisers will log the Direct Debit instruction and delivery preference against your membership record. 
5.3 Only one (1) gift card per eligible member.

6. Redemption

6.1 Provided that the member has successfully set up a Direct Debit that remains active for at least one full billing cycle, the gift card will be sent by email to the primary email address on the membership within twenty (20) working days of the month after the switch was completed.

6.2 It is the member’s responsibility to ensure the primary email address on the membership is correct and up-to-date. NFU is not responsible for gift cards that are not received due to incorrect email addresses or spam filters.

6.3 Non-receipt must be reported to [email protected] or 0370 845 8458 within 30 days of expected delivery.

6.4 NFU is not responsible for delivery failures due to:
a) Incorrect/invalid contact details provided by the member;
b) Email delivery issues (including spam filters).

7. Limitations and offer withdrawal

7.1 NFU reserves the right to withdraw, amend, or terminate the promotion at any time without prior notice in the event of circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to fraud, technical issues, or budgetary constraints.
7.2 The gift card cannot be exchanged for cash and is non-transferable.

8. General

8.1 We reserve the right to verify the eligibility of participants and to disqualify any participant who does not comply with these promotion terms or who tampers with the entry process.

8.2 Our decision in all matters relating to the promotion is final and binding.

8.3 The promotion and these promotion terms are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

9. Data protection

9.1 In order to fulfil the gift card incentive as part of your switch to Direct Debit, it is necessary for NFU to share your personal data (specifically, your name and email address) with Ridgeline. This processing is necessary for the performance of the contract between you and NFU (under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).

9.2 Ridgeline will process your personal data as a data processor acting on our instructions.
