Farming alongside the River Wye

Farming alongside the River Wye

The River Wye catchment is home to a vibrant agricultural community who are major producers of food, and are significant rural employers.

NFU West Midlands and NFU Cymru have worked with their members in the catchment to showcase just some of the many positive actions farmers are working on to improve nutrient management and safeguard the special qualities of the River Wye catchment.

They make a significant contributions to the rural economy, the environment, and landscapes and it is a diverse farming area with upland and lowland farmers covering a host of sectors - sheep, beef, poultry, dairy, combinable crops, potatoes, and others.

In our report you can find out more about our farmers and growers and what they are doing to produce food for us to eat and manage the farmed environment at the same time.
