Defra Minister Rebecca Pow held industry talks with Herefordshire NFU officeholders and environmental groups to discuss water quality and the River Wye.

The Defra Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, who has responsibility for water, was at Tump Farm, at Fownhope after she was invited by Herefordshire NFU deputy chairman Martin Williams.

The industry recognises the serious challenge around managing diffuse phosphate pollution in the Wye catchment – and the poultry sector, particularly, has been the focus of intense, media interest in recent times.
