Building business resilience

Wednesday 22 February 08:45 - 09:50

Updated: 16:05:40

Ash Amirahmadi OBE, Managing Director, Arla Foods UK
Assad Malic, Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer, Greene King

Questions
Chaired by Tom Bradshaw, Deputy President, National Farmers’ Union

Last updated: 16:05:40

For Ash: The largest part of your scope 3 emissions will be methane. Currently methane is valued indirectly off the carbon price using GWP100 methodology. I know Arla understands the alternative methodologies such as GWP* well. Do you think reductions in methane might be more accurately valued and therefore incentivised (your word) using a different methane price?

– Mr Andrew Loftus

How do you think the numbers associated with footprints at farm level will change when we move from historic Calculated data to real time data ?

– Prof Louise Manning

Question for Assad, we're grateful to learn more about the Greene King business and we'd like to know what you source from the UK, and given that confidence in production is on everyone's mind here today, what is in your crystal ball for the next 5 years for suppliers?.

– Olly Harrison

Assad you mentioned one of your key areas is helping customers choose more sustainable meals. How do you plan to educate them in a easy, reliable accurate way when eating out of home?

– Kat Ball

Assad, It’s good to hear that the beef burgers are British sourced, but I am just wondering where the other meat products - chicken for example, are sourced from and if not Britain, can I ask why

– Miss Eveey Hunter

To each speaker, what is the number one element in your business that has helped you deliver business resilience?

– Ali Capper
