Rachel Hallos speaking at the Reform Party Conference

The NFU kicked off this year’s party conference season hosting a brunch reception at the Reform conference in Birmingham on Saturday 6 September.

Over 250 councillors and party members attended the event hearing from Vice-president Rachel Hallos.

Her speech focused on the importance of local policy makers delivering a real difference for British farmers, the drive for supportive policies around greater food security and the importance of our food standards.

All received a positive response with the biggest support coming with the call to action to abolish any inheritance tax changes made.

The NFU’s attendance at Reform helps build relationships with the party at both a local and national level at a time when they’re forming policies and their voice is increasingly heard.
