Surrey farmer Paula Matthews MBE has received a regional Meurig Raymond award for her educational work and tireless promotion of agriculture.

She was presented with the award by the NFU vice president David Exwood during an Oscar style ceremony at NFU Conference, in Birmingham last month. Mrs Matthews, a Dorking branch member, who received an MBE in the new year’s honours, is now deputy chair of Surrey NFU and is known to many.
