In this week’s vlog, NFU President Tom Bradshaw shares the key issues discussed at NFU Council. Our position on inheritance tax, the UK-EU SPS (Sanitary and Phytosanitary) negotiations and the future of SFI topped the agenda. These were also key topics which led Tom’s regular meeting with Farming Minister Dame Angela Eagle.
Tom also stresses the importance of farmer representation in conversations around sustainability in food after attending the Sustainable Foods Conference.
NFU Combinable Crops Board Chair Jamie Burrows discusses the CropLife UK report (member exclusive) and the current outlook for arable farmers in terms of the EU reset.
With the deadline for the consultation on the combinable crops supply chain review approaching, Tom ends by urging members to fill in the consultation and make their voice heard.
