Cereals 2025 – a guide to this year's event

27 May 2025

The NFU's stand at Cereals

The arable industry’s key event, Cereals, will return to Heath Farm next month after a 17-year hiatus. We take a look at a packed agenda on the NFU stand, as well as some of the usual favourites and exciting new attractions.

Taking place on 11-12 June, Cereals will showcase the latest developments in arable agronomy, machinery, technology, and business advice from more than 400 exhibitors, with the show offering 200-plus live demonstrations, two days of seminar programmes, and several hundred individual crop plots on display.

A limited number of free tickets are still available for members, saving you the cost of a day out at the event. To get yours visit: Get your member-exclusive free ticket to Cereals 2025 and 2026.

Heath Farm, a 52-ha site in Lincolnshire, will see the NFU Combinable Crops Board on hand.

Board members will be happy to discuss our strategy, Harvesting Growth, which aims to support the NFU’s vision for a profitable, sustainable and globally competitive combinable crops sector, with a marketplace that has fairness and transparency at its core.

Anyone interested in the full range of priorities for the crops sector and key issues including fairness in the supply chain, digital passports, ergot, and protein crops is invited to come along to the stand, where there will be a breakfast  and lunch offering.

“At Cereals 2025, our focus is firmly on you – our members,” says Jamie Burrows, chair of the NFU’s national Combinable Crops Board.  “I look forward to welcoming you to the NFU stand, where we’ll be prioritising your views, concerns, and ideas. As a key event in the arable calendar, it’s the ideal time to come together, discuss the challenges facing our sector, and share what the board has been working on during the past year.

“We’ve reshaped our programme to ensure your voice is at the centre of everything we do.”

A packed programme of events

The NFU team will also be hosting the regular NFU Sugar Hour and the BASIS and NRoSO knowledge trails, in addition to launching the YourHarvest campaign for this year. This comes after reaching more than 10 million members of the public last year.

Cereals also marks the opening of the Cereals Development Programme, with NFU members aged between 25 and 35 encouraged to apply for the next programme, which will run from November 2025 until February 2026. New CDP chair Thomas Matthews, a number of CDP alumni, and NFU policy adviser Alastair Heinrich will be on stand ready to speak to any prospective participants about the value of the programme over the course of the two days.

World's largest production tractor

John Deere will offer a first look at its 9RX 830, the world’s largest production tractor, offering visitors an opportunity to see how the new 913hp tracked machine has been designed with power, comfort and productivity in mind.

John Deere will also be showcasing three of its sprayers – the 340M self-propelled, and the R740i and R962i trailed models. With a maximum boom width of 36 metres, the 340M is designed for tight spaces, while the 24-metre R740i with its unique PowrSpray dual-circuit solution system is said to offer benefits including fast filling for a fast turnaround and more hectares sprayed per day.

For those looking for a larger boom width, the 36-metre R962i brings John Deere’s See & Spray technology – spotting green weeds on brown soils – as well as the Individual Nozzle Control Pro upgrade, which will be on show for the first time at Cereals.  A wide range of tractors will also be on stand, including the new 5M, new 6M and tracked 8RX 410 with eAutoPowr. Sprays and Sprayers arena The Syngenta Sprays & Sprayers arena remains one of Cereals’ most highly anticipated attractions.

The 2025 programme promises a showcase of crop protection technology, with live demonstrations from leading sprayer manufacturers and precision ag innovators. Visitors can expect to see self-propelled and trailed machines, to be able to compare models side-by-side, and the opportunity to speak directly with technical experts on everything from nozzle choice to software integration.

Highlights include Amazone which will return to the arena to showcase its self-propelled Pantera 7004 and 4504, the trailed UX Super, the UF 02 mounted sprayers, and the FT 1502 front tank. The popular Rogator 600 from Fendt will also be back, joined by the new Rogator 645 Gen 2, a compact yet powerful solution tailored for small to medium-sized farms.

John Deere will demonstrate three of its sprayers at this year’s event: The 340M self-propelled model and the R740i and R962i trailed sprayers, offering solutions for farms of all sizes.   The arena will also host the presentation of the coveted FSOOTY (Farm Sprayer Operator of the Year) Award, recognising operators who excel in safe, efficient, and appropriate spraying practices.

Speaker line up

More than 60 speakers will share their thoughts at Cereals, with some 25 seminars, panel discussions and workshops slated to take place. Speakers will cover some of the most pressing issues in UK agriculture with presentations aimed at helping to drive your farm’s success, including regenerative farming, UK government legislation, finance and succession planning, and farm safety.

Among them is Will Davies, partner at Ceres Rural, who will chair a panel on optimising crop production on the Seed to Shelf Mainstage on both days of the event, and Ben Abell, head of agronomy at Dyson Farming, who will join a panel session exploring the present and future of agri-tech.

Elsewhere, the NFU’s Thomas Price, employment and skills adviser, will take part in a careers luncheon at 12 noon on 11 June, discussing with the panel a wide range of current career opportunities in the UK as well as those that are set to emerge over the coming years.

Meanwhile, as the turbulent financial outlook continues to cause uncertainty for the agricultural sector, visitors to Cereals will be able to seek advice from experts on how best to navigate the challenges.  To help farmers better understand the complexities of these financial changes, Jeremy Moody at the CAAV (Central Association of Agricultural Valuers) will be speaking at the Seed to Shelf Mainstage, sponsored by KWS. His seminar, entitled Land Use, Tax and Business, will dive into the critical factors shaping the future of British farming on both days of the event at 10am.
