Natural Resources Wales has recently launched a consultation on its Fees and Charges for 2017-18. While most charges are expected to stay at 2016-17 levels, proposals include a key change for pig and poultry producers in Wales.
NRW is proposing changes to the Environmental Permitting Scheme for Intensive Farming. This includes increases to the initial application costs and to variations to permits that seek to increase the number of animals at a site. All other variations will be held at the current fee and the annual Compliance Monitoring Charge will be reduced.
Further information on proposals is available to members in the NFU Cymru Briefing here. The full consultation document can be accessed here.
The consultation closes on 13 January 2017 and we would welcome your views to inform our consultation response. Please contact Rachel Lewis-Davies, NFU Cymru National Environment and Land Use Adviser on (01982) 554200 or e-mail UmFjaGVsLkxld2lzLURhdmllc0BuZnUub3JnLnVr
