Seeking member views on online abstraction service

Irrigation taking place on a field of potato crops

With many abstraction returns due to be made by 28 November, we are asking members to comment on the Environment Agency’s ‘digital transition’ programme for abstraction licences – what is working well, what could be improved, and what is missing from the service?

The NFU supports the switch from paper to digital for the day-to-day management of licences.

You can manage your licence by creating an online account. Once you have an account you will be able to:

  • submit returns
  • view your licence information
  • give other people access to manage your licence and returns

You can find more information here about how to manage your abstraction licence online.

You can find more information here on improving the Environment Agency’s abstraction licensing service.

The NFU is in regular communication with the Environment Agency about its digital abstraction service. If you have comments from your own experience, or have ideas on how the service can be improved please send them to cGF1bC5oYW1tZXR0QG5mdS5vcmcudWs=
