Healthy Working For All Ages - October 30

NFU Mutual farm safety and James Chapman_37885

The latest figures released by the HSE show that agriculture continues to have the poorest safety record of any industrial sector in the UK.

During the summer there was a lot of press and social media activity from Farm Safety Week and Len's Leg which went a long way towards raising awareness in the industry about safety and wellbeing.

A big task now is to continue that focus and keep the momentum on making real change going. This is a big challenge and to help, the NFU and HSE are holding a joint 'Healthy Working For All Ages' event at on October 30 at Stareton Hall, Stoneleigh Park, Warks, CV8 2TZ.

The aim of this event is to bring together members who want to see change happen and help make farming a safer, healthier and more productive industry with the best use of its most important resource - farmers!

Key note speakers include Martin Temple, Chair of the HSE but the focus will very much be on farmers and other speakers on the day will be members - sharing their experiences; what they have done to make a change in the industry and what we can all do to change attitudes and behaviours to make farming safer and ultimately more productive.

Confirmed speakers on the day are:

  • Martin Temple, Head of the HSE
  • Guy Smith, NFU Vice President
  • NFU members Jim Chapman and Tim Papworth
  • Kate Dale from Yorkshire Agricultural Society

Registration and coffee is at 10.00am. The programme will start at 10.30am with an aim to finish at 3.30pm and lunch will be provided.

The event is free to attend but spaces are limited. To secure your place, please contact Tamara Hill by emailing dGFtYXJhLmhpbGxAbmZ1Lm9yZy51aw==
