The NFU's celebration of the International Year of Plant Health!

Here at the NFU, we want to take this year-long opportunity to celebrate the hard work and innovation carried out by farmers, growers, agronomists and researchers across the UK, to provide high-quality, affordable and sustainably-produced food.

Each month we will focus on a different aspect of plant health in agriculture, featuring the work of our members, addressing upcoming plant health issues of the future and highlighting steps that policy makers can take to support and develop UK food production. Keep an eye out here on NFUOnline, in BF&G and the @NFU_PlantHealth twitter account for stories and articles throughout the year!

The NFU has three key aims for the International Year of Plant Health.
They are:
  1. Raise awareness of the importance of plant health in food production
  2. Correct inaccuracies regarding the use of plant protection products in British food production
  3. Highlight NFU lobbying issues to ensure a stable and sustainable future for British farmers

Each month during 2020, the NFU will focus on a different aspect of plant health in UK agriculture, featuring our members' work, the upcoming plant health issues of the future and efforts to highlight how policy makers can support UK food production.
