NFU Chief Science and Regulatory Affairs Advisor Dr Helen Ferrier said: “The recently launched ‘Science priorities for Brexit’ report contains calls for immediate Government actions on Brexit negotiation priorities and UK policy requirements. We know that these recommendations will resonate strongly with our members and the agriculture industry.

“Farming relies on a strong UK science base and robust research and development practices  that deliver improvements all the way from the laboratory directly to the field. It is essential that the UK has a well-resourced, vibrant and highly connected British scientific ecosystem for farmers to see improved productivity and environmental performance.”
