FLASHBACK TO EARLY 2018: SPEAK UP FOR FARMING'S FUTURE

Speak Up For Farming’s Future was the NFU’s co-ordinated online response to the government’s consultation on food, the environment and farming post-Brexit - also known as Health and Harmony.

Defra launched this ‘Command Paper’ on 27 February 2018.

A series of NFU roadshows highlighted to members how important it was to respond during the consultation's open window. On NFUonline, we built an online form to make it easier for members to respond which resulted in 2.3k emails sent directly to Defra's inbox.

As the Defra Secretary of State Michael Gove said: “One of the strongest and clearest responses we had was from farmers who said 'you need to develop a food strategy'.”
