Food standards petition

Do you want the food you eat to continue to be produced to the world leading standards you’ve come to expect, even in the toughest global circumstances?

The UK Government has the opportunity right now to put into law rules that prevent food being imported to the UK which is produced in ways that would be illegal here.

Sign our food standards petition and ask the UK Government to ensure all food imports are produced to the same high standards as British farmers.

Comment: We must not allow cheap imports to undermine our standards of top quality produce. Also stop carbon footprint of travelling goods that we can produce here.

Comment: It is wrong to allow food into the country that is produced to lesser standards than our producers have to use. Producers from other countries must have the same standards as ours otherwise there is not a level playing field and that puts our producers at a disadvantage.

Comment: We have had fine words from the government. Now we need these word translated into action by maintaining UK food and drink standards. We do NOT want to be sold out to the US.

Comment: I cannot understand why every MP does not support the NFU’s campaign. Nowhere do I see any arguments in favour of importing low standard food. So who is asking for this and why? Please can they stand up, state their reasons and be challenged publicly.
