"I want you to go back on farm and feel reinvigorated." That was NFU President Minette Batters' take home message for members as she closed NFU Conference 2019.
"The role of the NFU has never been more important. It's been an extraordinarily frenetic time, but we can't just focus on Brexit. The day job, for all our members is as relevant as it's ever been. The food strategy work stream is well underway, covering four pillars: the moral imperative of producing food; integrity and standards; health and nutrition; and agriculture's relationship with nature and tackling climate change. Whatever happens after 29 March, the strategy is in place and ready to go."
