The NFU Livestock Board meets regularly and supports members throughout the sector and sets the path for future sustainable growth.

Clare Wise

NFU National Livestock Board Chair

Clare is a mixed farmer from County Durham, farming sheep, cattle and arable. Following a career within the food chain, Clare returned home to run her fifth generation family farm.

Mark Weekes

NFU National Livestock Board Vice-chair and NFU South Livestock Board Chair

Mark Weekes is a sheep farmer from Exeter. Farm safety is a large focus area for Mark; he pioneered the South's 2018 safety pledge campaign.

Oli Lee

NFU Midlands Livestock Board Chair | Black Horse Farm Partners

Oli is a first-generation beef and sheep farmer from South Leicestershire.

Oli has represented the NFU as branch and county chairman and is currently Midlands Livestock Board chair and vice-chair of the NFU Livestock Board.

Robert Lewis

NFU Cymru Livestock Board Chair

This is Rob’s second term as NFU Cymru Livestock chair.

Robert farms three farms as one unit, where the land rises from 750 feet to more than 1650 feet on common grazing and overlooks the gateway to the Elan Valley.

Hugh Broom

NFU East Livestock Board chair

Hugh lives in Surrey where he runs his family’s 250-acre beef farm and serves as chair of his local NFU branch.

Tim Dobson

NFU North Livestock Board Chair
Tim Dobson and his wife, Marnie, have been farming together near Nantwich, Cheshire, since 2000.

Matt Barker

NFU North Livestock Board appointee

Matt is a third-generation beef and sheep farmer. Abbey Farm is based in Swaledale within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The farm was tenanted up until two years ago when the opportunity arose to purchase the 700-acre estate.

Esther Rudge

NFU Midlands Livestock Board appointee

Esther is a fourth-generation farmer, farming in partnership with her husband and son in Herefordshire.

Ann Willcocks

NFU South Livestock Board appointee

Ann farms in partnership with her husband Will on the southern fringes of Dartmoor.

Luke Smith

NFU East Livestock Board appointee

Luke farms 700 sheep and 150 suckler beef cattle in an extensive grazing system in Surrey, with the farm’s business model being based on as few inputs as possible.

David Bowman

NFU Lifestock Board appointee

David farms in partnership with his wife in Sebergham, Carlisle and alongside this business, an interest in the nearby family dairy farm is also maintained.

Gabby Emery

NFU Livestock Board appointee

Alongside her family, Gabby runs a commercial calf rearing farm in Somerset, producing 4,500 calves every year through bTB Approved Finishing Units.

Gabby has an interest in dairy-beef supply chains, particularly in relation to sustainability. Gabby has also been involved in the GB Calf Strategy since its inception, playing a key role in its publication and now chairing the Right Route Working Group.

Dave Stanners

NFU Uplands North Group chair

Dave farms in partnership with his wife, Annabel on a tenanted upland farm of 247ha.

The farm is situated in south west Northumberland, 20 miles North of Hexham. Dave and Annabel are first-generation farmers.

Mat Cole

NFU Uplands South Group chair

Mat Cole is from the South West and runs a traditional hill farm of around 2,000 acres in partnership with his brother. It is a mix of owned and tenanted land on which they run their 2000 traditional hill ewes with lambs that are sold for breeding or fat. 

Dave Morgan

NFU Livestock Board co-optee

Dave runs the family farm in Herefordshire, an enterprise based around beef finishing as well as sheep, arable and AD enterprises. 

The AD plant utilises the waste from the cattle. 

Andrew Loftus

NFU Livestock Board co-optee

Andrew manages an extensive grassland suckler beef enterprise near Masham in North Yorkshire on a mixture of owned and rented land.
