Birketts LLP has been appointed as the new NFU panel firm for Devon and Cornwall, replacing Foot Anstey LLP.

Birketts has an award-winning agriculture team of more than 50 specialists and is one of the best qualified and largest agricultural legal teams in the UK.

The main points of contact remain Edward Venmore and Danielle Spalding, who many members will know from their previous roles at Foot Anstey, where they worked for many years.

An established team

Birketts has an established team in the Southwest that includes Kate Lucas, Arron Jolliffe and Laura Prouse, all of whom bring considerable experience in supporting farming businesses across the region.

That team, along with the firm's wider private client team, brings together lawyers with a broad range of professional and practical experience, including those from farming backgrounds and those with expertise members need including in agricultural tenancies, farming partnership, renewables, and succession planning.

This depth of experience enables Birketts to understand your businesses and the challenges and opportunities faced across the sector.

Legal Health Check

Members are also reminded that the NFU Legal Health Check is available to help you identify any legal risks in your business and ensure key documents and arrangements are up to date. It is a valuable review that can highlight issues before they become problems.

Birketts will be pleased to guide you through the process or answer any questions about how the Legal Health Check could support your business.

The Birketts team will be attending shows across Devon and Cornwall throughout the year to support members on our stand. If you have any queries in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact them.
