Jamie, who farms in Hertfordshire and Norfolk, is one half of Sandcross Farming LLP which produces milling and feed wheat, milling oats, feed and malting barley and peas.
He said: “I am very pleased and extremely proud to be re-elected. I feel we have achieved a lot over the past two years and I’m looking forward to kicking on and getting more done in the months ahead.
“Immediately, we again have fertiliser and fuel going up in price and we really don’t have any clarity on why. A priority will be to understand what is going on with the markets.
“To all our arable farmer members, we hear you and we have businesses that are experiencing the same pain as you are.”

“We will also have the findings from the fairness in the supply chain review and it’s exciting to discuss what we can do with that.
“To all our arable farmer members, we hear you and we have businesses that are experiencing the same pain as you are. Everything we look at as a board and every decision we make, we look at through the same lens. We are steered by you and, as a board, we are always trying to make things a bit better for you where we can.”
Pressures felt across the sector
Andrew Williamson, who farms near Bridgnorth in south Shropshire, has been elected as Vice-chair.
He is the managing partner of a family farming partnership, farming 900 acres of combinable crops, wheat, oilseed rape, oats, barley and beans.
On his election, he said: "I am really honoured to have been elected. It’s something I have been wanting to do for a while and working towards for the past 10 years or so through the NFU ranks.
“We fully understand the pressures the sector is under, and we feel it acutely and we will endeavour to do the very best we can by our members.
“My priorities will be pushing on with the fairness in the supply chain review, looking at the SPS (Sanitary and Phytosanitary) realignment with the EU and its impact on our members and what’s happening with the Middle East conflict. It’s really important to find out what the real story is behind the price hikes we’re experiencing.”
