The national officeholder candidates at the North hustings

The North region hosted its NFU national officeholder elections 2026 hustings at Holiday Inn Darlington, Scotch Corner on Wednesday 21 January.

The event was one of six hustings being held across England and Wales, to give members the chance to hear from the candidates who will be standing for the positions of President, Deputy President and Vice-president.

This year, Tom Bradshaw is standing for President and David Exwood is standing for President and Deputy President. Rachel Hallos, Paul Tompkins and Robyn Munt are standing for Deputy President and Vice-president. Mark Jeffery is standing for Vice-president.

Members heard the candidates’ vision if they were successfully elected as an NFU officeholder. Each candidate spoke for three minutes and members then had the opportunity to ask questions.

The national officeholder 2026 election will take place after NFU Conference on Wednesday 25 February.

Read the candidates’ personal statements and watch their hustings speeches.
