Since its launch 22 milk purchasers have signed up to support the scheme. Those on board so far have reported that 79% of their farmers already know their Johne’s status and will next work through which strategy they will adopt to help manage Johne’s disease on farm.
The NFU supports the initiative and is part of Action Group Johne’s. We would encourage our members to ask whether their vet and milk buyer are involved with the initiative, and if not to get involved.
