Key messages:
Buying a turkey directly from the farm where it has been produced allows you to:
- Choose a farm fresh whole bird and not just a crown this Christmas
- Support British farmers’ high animal welfare standards
- Support your local farmer , the local economy and know where your food comes from
- Kick off your Christmas celebrations by visiting your local turkey producer to collect your Christmas turkey
- It’s a great way to #BackBritishFarming this Christmas
- Visit the NFU turkey finder for your farm fresh, local British turkey
- When shopping at a supermarket you can Back British Farming by looking carefully at the country of origin labelling, and keeping an eye out for the Red Tractor logo with the Union flag to ensure you are purchasing fully-traceable food produced on British farms.
