Tonnage pledges

Growers that attended the NFU meeting at Peterborough on Tuesday 18 June represented over 2.8 million tonnes of beet; the meeting unanimously supported the NFU position and continued negotiation.

The meeting also asked for a way for those growers not in attendance to be able to support the NFU position. It was agreed that they should pledge their contracts to the NFU to demonstrate their support. If you wish to do this you can send in your contract number(s) and tonnage(s) to NFU Sugar directly at YmVldC5ncm93ZXJzQG5mdS5vcmcudWs= or by submitting your details in writing to NFU Sugar, Agriculture House, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, CV8 2TZ. Alternatively you can use the online tool on this page.

Since the launch of this facility we have received a high quantity of tonnage pledges supporting the NFU. The latest total, as of Wednesday 4th September 2013, is 5,789,990 tonnes. This figure will be updated regularly.
