BASIS are set to take over administration of NRoSO training from current provider City & Guilds.

On 26 January 2023, BASIS will take over NRoSO training after current provider City & Guilds, decided not to tender for the contract so it could concentrate on its core activities within the land-based sector.

Change of providers

The VI (Voluntary Initiative) have thanked City & Guilds for their contribution to the scheme since 2002, noting the significant role they have played in improving sprayer operator knowledge and best practice in the UK.

BASIS will take on responsibility for NRoSO training from 26 January 2023. They are an independent organisation and bring a wealth of experience, having run several other professional registers for a number of years.

Membership

Memberships and ID cards will still be valid until your renewal date.

If your membership expires before the 23 December 2022, please renew your membership as normal via City & Guilds.

If your membership expires after the 23 December 2022, you will need to renew via the VI/BASIS. You will be contacted with details of how to do this. Do not worry as a grace period will be granted over the changeover period.

If you cancel your membership before the 23rd December, your details will not be transferred to the new supplier. You are then responsible for informing the relevant farm assurance bodies from the date of cancellation.

Payment

City & Guilds will continue to accept payments by all methods up to and including the 23rd December 2022. Membership details will be updated to reflect this payment and shared with the new supplier.

Any cheques received after this date will be destroyed. Members are advised to cancel any future direct debit or BACs payments.

Details of future payment details can be obtained from BASIS and will be shared by the VI in due course.

CPD Points

Your existing CPD (Continuous Professional Development) points total are included in the data to be shared with BASIS during the handover.

City & Guilds will continue to receive requests/submissions for CPD points for individuals up to and including 18th January 2023. Membership details will be updated to reflect these points and shared with the new supplier.
