For the first time Defra has provided information on how Environmental Land Management schemes (ELMs) can contribute to the government’s environmental ambitions.

ELMs is only one mechanism to deliver these ambitions. Defra does highlight the role of regulation (currently undergoing reform), proportionate enforcement, and private finance as other mechanisms.
