Run by the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, the Be Inspired Business Awards (BIBAs) is Lancashire’s longest running, largest and most prestigious business awards ceremony.
Ian and Alison learnt of their success on Friday 17 September when over 1,000 of Lancashire’s business community attended its star-studded annual awards ceremony at Blackpool Tower.
More than 140 businesses competed for 20 awards. The judging process included a presentation and interview, with all finalists having their businesses judged by the best business leaders in the county.
Also winning on the night were Hoofcount, Barnacre (Micro Business of the Year) and Levity Crop Science, Bilsborrow (Innovative Business of the Year).
Speaking after the awards ceremony, Mr Pye said: “It’s exciting to see three agricultural businesses winning. All too often farmers don’t think their everyday efforts to enhance our surroundings is noteworthy, but outside of farming it’s seen as a big deal.
“Proactive measures such as carbon foot-printing of an efficient environmentally friendly dairy system and installing bird boxes around the farm won us this award and I don’t think I’m doing anything radically different to most farmers in the North West. More farming businesses should enter awards like the BIBAs. We have proven that farms can and do win.”
The Chief Executive of the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce Babs Murphy added: “Seeing the calibre of finalists, their stories, their people and progress gives me the utmost certainty that we can look forward with confidence as a county. It has been a privilege to be involved in these awards and to have so many local business people come together to celebrate our world-class Lancashire business community.”
