Adam Briggs has been appointed NFU North Regional Director following David Hall’s six-month secondment as Director of Regions and Membership.

David stepped into the role earlier this month, taking the reins from former Regions and Membership Director Mel Squires.

Following recruitment for the Regional Director secondment, North Regional Policy Manager Adam was successful in securing the role.

David said: “The Director of Regions and Membership role is a role that I am delighted to take on and will give me insight at the highest level of the organisation, working with a team that I have huge admiration for. Never did I think that when I was a 17-year-old sat in the Saddleworth Branch meeting that I would one day be a director, even if it is only for six months.

“In my first week in the new role I have attended council for the first time and seen our sovereign body work together over the two-day period. I am looking forward to getting out across all four regions to meet the teams and regional boards in the coming weeks and months.

“I am pleased to say that Adam Briggs, Regional Policy Manager will take on the role of Regional Director for the North while I am on secondment in Stoneleigh. We have an amazing team of staff and members across the North and I know that they are in safe hands. Adam has led on policy and member engagement for the last two years following a number of policy and membership roles in the North West. Over the last two years Adam has done a huge amount of member engagement and will be well known to many.”

A great opportunity

Adam said: “It is a great opportunity and privilege to step up to the role of Regional Director for the NFU in the North of England while David has been seconded to a national role. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working as Policy Manager over the last two years at a time of change, both for the NFU and for the industry, making sure the policy work is focused on the key issues in the region. I’m looking forward to the challenges that will come as I take on this new role and will ensure that the NFU keeps on working to deliver for members across the region.”
