Professor Chambers was well known in the agricultural industry for his work applying soil science to the complex problems of agriculture. His outstanding technical knowledge and critical thinking enabled him to push the boundaries and challenge convention when supported by ‘sound science’.
The fund was set up in his name to provide grants to help fund the learning and development costs of students and early career scientists. With the help of a number of agriculture and environmental industry organisations, it is offering opportunities for work experience, mentoring or training.
