02 February 2026

1908 group

Today marks the launch of The 1908 Group, comprising three leading names in planning and design consultancy: Acorus, PWA Planning and Woolf Bond Planning.

The members of the group offer unparalleled expertise in commercial, agricultural, and residential planning and design, delivered by a team of 60, operating across seven locations in England and Wales.

The 1908 Group name takes inspiration from the NFU which owns Acorus, PWA and Woolf Bond. The year 1908 was a pivotal moment in British agricultural history and marks the formation of the NFU.

By adopting this heritage, The 1908 Group reflects the same values of resilience, collaboration, and progress that defined the NFU’s origins.

New look

“We’re delighted to bring these firms together under The 1908 Group, providing NFU members with a great range of professional services at their fingertips.”

NFU Director General Terry Jones

On the launch of the group, NFU Director General Terry Jones said: “We’re delighted to bring these firms together under The 1908 Group, providing NFU members with a great range of professional services at their fingertips.”

As part of the launch, each of Acorus, PWA and Woolf Bond will be adopting a common brand identity, embracing a fresh, modern look designed to reflect their forward-thinking approach while continuing to deliver the high quality service clients know and trust.

In addition, colours, typography and visuals across Acorus, PWA and Woolf Bond’s communications and websites will also be aligned.

Terry added: “The look is new, but clients can expect continuity where it matters most. From initial feasibility studies and architectural drawings to navigating planning policy and delivering successful outcomes, these consultancies will continue to provide trusted, market-leading advice and personal service, enhanced by the resources and capabilities of a substantial parent organisation.”
