The Beef and Lamb Environmental Roadmap is an industry-led plan for practical environmental progress across beef and lamb in England and Wales. It sets out a practical, evidence-led approach for the beef and lamb sectors in England and Wales to reduce emissions while maintaining productive, resilient and commercially viable farm businesses.
The launch of the next iteration of the roadmap will cover the headline findings from the updated analysis for suckler beef, dairy beef and sheep, the priority cost-saving and cost-neutral measures identified for the sector, and the roadmap’s 2026-2030 action plan.
The session will also explore how practical actions such as improving animal health, lifetime growth, genetics, forage quality, soil health, grass legume swards and nitrogen efficiency can support both environmental progress and business resilience.
The NFU has collaborated on the roadmap to ensure it provides a vision for the sector that is focused on building a profitable, efficient and resilient food system that works with the environment and reduces our impact on the climate.
