Britain’s Got Talent winners the Hawkstone Farmers’ Choir have won the NFU Farming Champion of the Year Award at the Farmers Weekly Awards.

The Hawkstone Choir has been awarded the Farmers Weekly coveted Farming Champion of the Year Award, sponsored by the NFU.

The choir, originally a group of farmers, was put together in 2025 as part of an advertising campaign for Jeremy Clarkson’s Hawkstone drinks brand.

They use their platform to raise awareness about rural isolation and mental health struggles in the British farming industry.

The group of farmers, many of them NFU members, shot to fame on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent, receiving the Golden Buzzer at their audition, winning their semi-final and ultimately being crowned champions in May, securing a place at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.

“Their passion, authenticity and commitment have resonated with audiences far beyond the farm gate, making a lasting difference, reminding us of the importance of looking after one another, that exemplifies the very best of British farming.”

NFU President Tom Bradshaw

The choir is hitting the road for a major 2027 UK tour, performing their own songs and stories.

NFU President Tom Bradshaw said: “The Hawkstone Farmers’ Choir really are deserving recipients of this year’s Farming Champion Award.

“Over the past 12 months, they have been outstanding ambassadors for British agriculture, using music and their platform to tell the story of our industry, celebrate rural communities and raise awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing farming today.

“Through the power of friendship and shared experience, members of the choir have shone a light on one of the biggest issues facing us: rural mental health.

“They have helped to start conversations that many people find difficult, tackle stigma, creating opportunities for farmers and rural communities to come together, support one another and know they are not alone.

“Their passion, authenticity and commitment have resonated with audiences far beyond the farm gate, making a lasting difference, reminding us of the importance of looking after one another, that exemplifies the very best of British farming.

“This award is thoroughly deserved and a recognition of the positive impact they continue to make across the British farming industry and beyond.”
