NFU Carlisle hosted a stand at Hope’s Auction on Thursday 23 April to catch up with members, discuss recent NFU policy work, and hear first hand about the issues affecting beef producers.
Stand visitors were invited to collect a voucher for a free hot beef roll and chips. Catering was provided by The Stocksman, showcasing locally produced, high quality British beef.
NFU Carlisle Group Secretary Nicola Wilkinson said: “Great British Beef Week is an ideal opportunity to celebrate the quality of British beef and the dedication of the farmers producing it.
“Attending the Wigton store cattle sale allows us to speak directly with members, hear their concerns and highlight the ongoing policy work being undertaken on their behalf.
“It was great catching up with both members and non-members, having some useful chats, and seeing so many friendly faces.
“Everyone who stopped by received a voucher for a hot beef roll and chips, all to celebrate Great British Beef Week and recognise the hard work that goes into producing top-quality British beef.
“Thank you to The Stocksman for the delicious food and to everyone who came over to say hello.”
