NFU Council: NFU President updates on impact of Iran war

21 April 2026

At the latest NFU Council, NFU President Tom Bradshaw said the focus was on ensuring government understood the impact of the lack of key agricultural inputs on farmers' ability to produce the nation's food.

In this video, recorded after NFU Council, NFU President Tom Bradshaw said the government must recognise the critical nature of the inputs used on farm and focus on long-term planning, as the Middle East conflict continues to impact the price and availability of fuel, fertiliser and energy.

Tom referenced NFU Conference 2026 and the need for food resilience, calling on the government to prioritise the farm to fork supply chain and the impact on food production from a continued lack of key agricultural resources.
