We’re looking forward to seeing members at country shows across the NFU East region this summer.
We’ll have stands at the major county events, offering members the chance to speak to and hear from national officeholders or NFU directors, HQ, regional staff and group secretaries, politicians and stakeholders, as well as to take part in industry discussions or just enjoy some refreshments.
Among the shows we’re attending are:
Bedfordshire YFC Rally / 16 May
We are looking forward to attending the Beds YFC rally, where there will once again be a combined NFU and NFU Mutual stand.
We will be hosting four of the county’s MPs between 11am and 12.30pm and the group secretaries will be there all day with County Adviser Clare Gregory.
Essex Young Farmers Show / 17 May
The NFU will once again have a stand at the Essex YFC Show. The show has been running for over 30 years and is one of the only shows in the UK run purely by its members, who range from 16 to 28 years old.
Please visit us to meet your local group secretaries, county officeholders and County Adviser Hamish Debnam-Sharp.
There will be pasties, tea, and coffee served in the morning, and cake throughout the day.
Hertfordshire County Show / 23 & 24 May
The show is a fantastic shop window for the county’s food and farming. Attracting 35,000 visitors over the weekend, it’s a celebration of everything county, country living, food and farming.
Come along to the NFU stand to meet members of the NFU team, your local group secretaries and county officeholders. Tea and coffee will be available on both days.

Planned events on 27 May include sugar hour with NFU Sugar at 11am and a members’ reception from 3pm to 4pm.
There’s the chance to meet Suffolk’s rural crime sergeant at 12.30pm on 28 May.
As well as tea and coffee served all day, our popular locally sourced lunches will be available on both days, featuring the best of Suffolk produce.
Cambridgeshire County Show / 30 May
We’re looking forward to seeing members at this traditional country show, showcasing all the best things rural life brings. The NFU will have a stand alongside NFU Mutual, with panel firm HCR-Law and RABI joining us. Light refreshments will be available.
County Chair Alison Morris will be attending along with other officeholders, group secretaries and County Adviser Rory Kerr.
South of England Show / 5 to 7 June
The NFU will have a small stand for the first time in a few years at the South of England Show.
We’re looking forward to joining members on the Friday with key NFU representatives, including Regional Director Zoe Leach and Vice-president Robyn Munt.
The Friday of the show will be busy with MP roundtable meetings, member meetings, and the opportunity for members to talk to head office staff on specific issues, such as ELMs and SFI.
Royal Norfolk Show / 24 & 25 June
We’re preparing for a busy two days at the show, which features 700 trade stands, over 3000 animals and a packed Grand Ring programme.
