Northsea Camp Prison's is a 200-acre working farm, the visit is to discover how agriculture is equipping prisoners with practical skills, supporting rehabilitation, and creating pathways into sustainable employment within the farming industry.
This is a Category D open prison for men aged 18 and over, located near Boston, Lincolnshire. Since opening in 1935, the prison has developed a thriving 200-acre working farm, providing practical training across agriculture, horticulture and livestock production.
This exclusive visit will provide members with the opportunity to explore the farm, meet the team behind the operation and learn how the agricultural sector is supporting rehabilitation while addressing future workforce opportunities.
The visit will include:
- A guided tour of the prison's agricultural enterprises, including horticulture, pigs, sheep and cattle.
- An overview of the farm's role in developing practical agricultural skills and preparing prisoners for employment.
- A presentation from prison staff explaining the Release on Temporary Licence (ROTL) scheme and how it enables prisoners to undertake employment before release.
- An opportunity to ask questions and discuss how agricultural businesses can engage with the programme.
- Information on the support available for employers considering participation in the scheme.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided by Northsea Camp Prison.
