Cereals marks the beginning of the NFU’s annual celebration of British farmers’ hard work during harvest. Find out why Your Harvest is so important and how you can get involved.

Your Harvest is a celebration of the hard work that farmers do throughout the summer to harvest and bring in their crops. The aim is to make the public aware of the effort and the work that goes into harvest, and the challenges farmers face during this time

Get can get involved

We’d love for you to get involved in showcasing the fantastic work of British farmers during harvest on your social media using the #YourHarvest hashtag.

You could post simple videos, talking through:

  • what your day-to-day life is like during harvest time
  • the crops in your fields and how they become the food and drink on our tables, or
  • explaining some of the features of your combine or tractor.

It’s your 2026 harvest

NFU Crops Board Vice-chair Andrew Williamson explains how no one can tell your story like you can.

Why #YourHarvest matters

We want to share behind-the-scenes insights into the harvest process – details that many members of the public rarely see.

It's important to showcase the expertise, dedication, and sheer perseverance required to grow and harvest viable crops under such testing conditions.

Weaving in some of the key priorities within the Combinable Crops Board’s ‘Harvesting Growth’ strategy, the campaign can help build a stronger future for the combinable crops industry.

Content will be tailored to promote the strategy, by honing in on the Board's vision for a profitable, sustainable and globally competitive combinable crops industry, with a marketplace which has fairness and transparency at its core.

Meanwhile, the Board will continue to engage with relevant stakeholders within government to ensure that the priorities within the strategy are heard.

Now more than ever

With the Middle East conflict leaving arable farmers exposed to relentless input cost rises and the sector awaiting the outcome of the government’s sorely-needed supply chain fairness review, celebrating farmers’ work during harvest and being celebrated by the nation is important now more than ever.

Continuing last year’s work

The response to last year’s harvest celebration was incredible. It helped to raise awareness of the crucial role that farmers play in delivering sustainable, environmentally responsible, and healthy food to the nation’s tables.

This year, we are going to continue to champion the voices and efforts of farmers and engage the public with the stories behind the food they enjoy every day. The Combinable Crops Board is determined to keep shining a light on their hard work, sharing authentic stories that connect the public to the origins of their daily meals and the broader agricultural landscape.
