Topics of discussion centred around the government's recent announcement on air quality controls and plans to publish a clean air strategy next year - ammonia emissions are expected to be included in this strategy. There was also a focus on better utilisation of slurry to lower emissions and reduce costs, more effective nutrient management planning and widespread carbon footprinting.

The next meeting will be held towards the end of October.

The Dairy Roadmap

The Dairy Roadmap is a task force in Britain’s dairy industry which drives sustainability efforts across the length of the supply chain

The Roadmap is made up of two main bodies: the steering group and a wider task force. The steering group holds responsibility for production of the Dairy Roadmap. The group includes members from AHDB Dairy, Dairy UK and the National Farmers Union. Chairmanship rotates every two years between the three organisations and currently resides with Dairy UK.

A new twitter handle for the roadmap has just been set up - learn more about the Dairy Roadmap and keep track of future reports and progress updates by following @DairyRoadmap
