Independent think tank, the Food Foundation, is working with the industry to explore what a ‘sector deal’ (identified in the government’s Industrial Strategy green paper) might look like for horticulture.  Make your views are heard with this short survey.

In its recent Industrial Strategy green paper, the Westminster government proposed to set an ‘open door’ challenge for industries to come to government with proposals to transform their sectors through ‘sector deals’.

The government committed itself to work with organised sectors to help deliver upgrades in productivity.  According to the green paper, this could involve state support in: "addressing regulatory barriers; promoting competition and innovation; working together to increase exports; and working together to commercialise research".

Government expects sector deals to be driven by business to meet the priorities of business.  The Food Foundation – an independent think tank that tackles the growing challenges facing the UK’s food system – is working with the British Growers Association, NFU and others in exploring what a sector deal for horticulture might look like, and how one could best support different kinds of producers to increase volumes, further improve consistency and quality, and reduce risks, waste and costs.  Results from this survey of veg and fruit growers will feed into this process.

Your participation in this survey is entirely voluntary. You can decide to skip question(s) at any time. It will take around 10 minutes to complete the survey.  Please complete the survey no later than 09:00 Monday 29th of May 2017

Responses will be assessed confidentially by the Food Foundation. The Food Foundation is fully compliant with the Data Protection Act in its collection, storage, and use of survey data.  For any questions about the survey, please contact cm9iaW4uaGlua3NAZm9vZGZvdW5kYXRpb24ub3JnLnVr
