Avian Influenza Secondary C&D – Option 1

Use our Secondary C&D decision tool to help you find the best option for your farm business.

Choosing this option can allow you to return your farm business to operation as quickly as possible, but it is also the most labour intensive option.

When a plan is pre-prepared and resources are available on farm to complete C&D, the requirements for this option could be reached within three months. Please note that every farm business is different and there are a range of factors that could affect the time taken to complete secondary C&D and restocking.

Following effective C&D confirmed by your case officer/veterinary inspector through checks on cleaning efficacy and some tests, followed by a 21-day standstill, you will be able to restock birds on your farm, which will be monitored for AI.

Following negative tests and an absence of clinical signs of disease in the birds, you can apply for restrictions to be lifted.
