Poultry Board Chair Will Raw and Vice-chair Will Lea update on the May Board saying they were pleased to welcome the co-ops who joined the meeting to bring additional expertise from diverse parts of the poultry chain. They recognised that this expertise and the two-way knowledge exchange with the regions brings information and insight together producing invaluable dialogue on the key issues impacting the sector.
Issues covered included farm assurance, AI and trade where they were joined by Ellyn Ryan from the NFU trade team who talked through the data members can use when talking to stakeholders about imports to help inform on why the UK produce to higher standards.
Finally, they used the opportunity to promote the inaugural Love British Chicken campaign encouraging all members to get behind the campaign and promote #LoveBritishChicken.
