The NFU has been in conversation with the Environment Agency regarding the potential risk of flooding due to snow melt.

According to the Environment Agency’s five day flooding forecast: “The forecast flood risk for England and Wales is low on Friday and Saturday. Local coastal flooding is probable for parts of the north-east of England and Yorkshire coast on Friday and for parts of the south Devon and Cornwall coast on Saturday.

Local coastal flooding is also possible elsewhere along the north-east, Yorkshire and south-west coasts of England. Local coastal flooding is also possible, but not expected, for other parts of the south coast of England and Wales from Friday to Sunday. Land, roads and some properties could flood and there may be local travel disruption and public health and safety concerns along coastal routes.”
