Our vision marks arable farmers' desire for recognition about the positive contributions they make to the country's future. Farmers are pivotal to society in gaining sustainable products from our land resources because they manage and safeguard what comes out of the British landscape: food, energy, renewable materials, clean water, and diverse habitats.
Meet the NFU Combinable Crops Board
Crops June Council update
NFU Combinable Crops Board Chair Jamie Burrows updated NFU Council on farm assurance and supply chain fairness.
The Crops Board has responded to the UKFAR (Farm Assurance Review) by proactively engaging with relevant stakeholders to set out what the future of farm assurance in the sector should look like, including a legislative baseline for standards to meet food and feed safety requirements and reduced audit burden alongside an enhanced Red Tractor portal. Jamie also applauded the government for listening to his fellow board members and farmers on the challenges growers face when dealing with the rest of the supply chain, resulting in the announcement of a government supply chain fairness review which will open later this year.
