Our vision marks arable farmers' desire for recognition about the positive contributions they make to the country's future. Farmers are pivotal to society in gaining sustainable products from our land resources because they manage and safeguard what comes out of the British landscape: food, energy, renewable materials, clean water, and diverse habitats.

Harvest update
This year's harvest has been a challenge for many British growers, with the sustained dry period throughout the spring into early summer causing significant variability in final yields. However, across other major cereal producing countries, yields have been healthy, and overall world wheat stocks have increased year on year, as good growing conditions supported production and therefore continues to naturally suppress world market prices.
While costs of production for wheat and other cereal staples have increased year on year for British arable farmers, the value delivered back to these growers at point of sale is almost entirely influenced by the world market price. Unless there’s a widespread shortfall in harvests worldwide, domestic yields alone are very unlikely to push consumer prices higher and UK growers continue to face depressed farmgate prices.
